World Of Dance San Diego

World of Dance SD was fun, second time volunteering for SD. I think I only officially met a few new people, wish I could have met more. This time I was extremely busy, getting yelled at for not have crews ready when I was only supposed to take care of two dance crews. Although it was hectic, I got it done and had fun running around everywhere looking for a dance crew or someone. I also got a goofy wave from Charles Nguyen, hella funny guy. Saw a bunch of amazing performances, saw a bunch of old friends, and got to make a few new ones. Had hella funny moments all day, got to be a body guard for Chachi, talked to Keone Madrid(I was screaming like a fan girl on the inside), got to see my friend launch his clothing company Archaic Alliance, got trusted with my friend’s dance crew Boogiezone’s Breed, and finally got to see Choreo Cookies and SGBM perform live! Although my legs were killing by the end of the night, it was all worth it!

What moves Gio?

“A lot of things actually. God, Family, Friends, ME, my dance family and basically every negative and positive event helps motivate me through dance. Every negative and positive feeling I get, it channels me into connecting into the music, or more so, channels me into the passion of dance. That being said, dance includes it as an art and includes everyone in it, and dance as a whole motivates me. God especially motivates me, it’s a very bold statement. He gave me the gift of being able to dance and express myself through as a passion, what more can I say then to use this gift to glorify my Lord.. My family helps pay for my tuition in dance and support me, i need to take advantage of the opportunity while i have it. My friends support me and basically all my friends are from dance haha. lastly, i need to out dance myself. I see a lot of dancers these days trying to out dance and out shine everyone. Instead of that, I try to out dance myself, I don’t need to be better then anyone else, but i need to be better then myself. Being a humble dancer takes a lot further then being one who is big headed.”
